The Palais des Papes, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the 10 most visited monuments in France. The palace is the largest fortress of the Middle Ages and the largest Gothic palace in Europe. It was built in less than 20 years, and is the meeting of two palaces built at the same time.
