We can never repeat it enough, but here, in Terre d'Argence, we have been pioneers in so many things. Water towers for example. Not that we were the first to build them, of course. But that of Fourques is one of the first to have been put into service in the Gard. It must be said that the proximity of the Rhône inspires, since it is its waters that will be used to supply the Commune. Inspired by the water towers of Aigues-Mortes and Saintes, its construction was completed in 1900. Steam-driven centrifugal pump, distribution in streets and houses, to supply water, the town had to at the time a loan over 20 years! Today largely profitable, the water tower now waters the plants of the Commune.
